Settings
Business profile, team, custom fields, account, notifications, and billing.
Settings is where you configure the workspace itself — the details that appear on your documents, who is in your team, and what you are subscribed to.
Navigate to Settings from the main sidebar. It is a tabbed area with eight tabs.
| Tab | What is on it |
|---|---|
| General | Business name, details, address, and time zone |
| Custom fields | Extra fields on your customer records |
| Account | Your own name, email, and password |
| Team | Members and invitations |
| Invoice customization | The appearance and details used on sales documents |
| Accounting | Accounting options for your workspace |
| Notifications | What you get told about, and where |
| Billing | Your plan and subscription |
The Settings link appears in the sidebar for owners and admins only. The General, Team, Accounting, and Billing tabs turn everyone else away at the route level. The Account tab is available to every signed-in role and only shows that person's profile and password.
General
Everything the setup wizard asked for, editable.
- Business name — appears on every document you issue.
- Business details — your description and registration details.
- Address — stored against your primary branch. This is the address printed on your invoices.
- Time zone — used by recurring schedules and dates across the workspace.
Account
Your own profile, and it is deliberately thin.
- Name — first and last name. Saves as you type.
- Email — read-only. Contact support to change it.
- Password — changeable, minimum 8 characters. Other sessions stay signed in when you do.
Custom Fields
Add your own fields to customer records.
- Fields attach to Contacts and Companies.
- Seven field types: text, number, date, checkbox, select, multi-select, and email.
- Definitions are stored against your business, so they apply to every member.
- You can define up to 200.
Custom fields then appear as columns in the Customers list and on the company and contact records.
The Custom fields screen has no additional role gate of its own. The sidebar link to Settings is still restricted to owners and admins.
Notifications
Notification preferences are grouped by event. Each available event has an in-app and an email switch, so you can choose how you are told about it. Each preference is controlled independently.
Notification preferences are per-user: they are yours, and changing them does not affect anyone else in the workspace.
Accounting
Accounting options for the workspace. Their availability depends on your workspace's enabled accounting options.
Team
Members, roles, and invitations. See Team.
Billing
Your plan, usage, and subscription. See Billing.
