Credit Notes

Issue credit notes to adjust or refund invoices.

Credit notes are used to partially or fully reverse an invoice — whether for a refund, pricing adjustment, or correction.

Creating a Credit Note

  1. Navigate to Sales > Credit Notes.
  2. Click New Credit Note.
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Original Invoice — The invoice this credit note applies to.
    • Customer — Auto-populated from the invoice.
    • Line items — The items being credited, with quantities and amounts.
    • Reason — A description of why the credit is being issued.

Applying Credit Notes

Once created, a credit note can be:

  • Applied to an invoice — Reduces the outstanding balance on the related invoice.
  • Refunded — Record a refund payment to the customer.

Credit Note Statuses

StatusDescription

IssuedFinalized and applied.
VoidedCancelled and no longer valid.
